cs2006 Astronomy Programs

A collection of Astronomy application programs from the internet. These programs are for Windows in its various manifestations and/or DOS. This CD represents an excellent resource for the amateur astronomer. I estimate that it contains well over 100 programs, and numerous image files and data files. In addition there are links to other resources online. I have searched the Web for free, public domain, and public license software packages and put some of them on CD. There are also a few "shareware" programs, but it appears to me that the very best have no strings attached. With very few exceptions, these programs are for English language users. You will need to unzip the files with a utility such as PKUNZIP or WinZip.

The various packages are at different levels of maturity and completeness, and I cannot certify that they are all worthwhile for any particular purpose. However, some of them, at least, are very good indeed. In addition to the software, I have included documentation, where possible, and HTML pages linking to a wealth of online resources.

The packages included Astronomical calculators, Satellite tracking, telescope control, Image processing, viewer and simulation, and optical design tools, Ephemeris, and more.
